Fr. Colm was born in Waterford on the 20th January 1973. Colm attended St. Paul’s Primary and Secondary School, Waterford.
From an early age Colm had decided that he wanted to be a priest. When he completed secondary school Colm attended St. Johns College, Waterford to study for the priesthood, completing his final year in Maynooth College, Co. Kildare.
Colm was ordained in June 2000 in St. Paul’s Church, Waterford.
St. Peter & Paul’s Parish in Clonmel was his first posting. Colm spent 8 years in St. Peter & Paul’s Parish, Clonmel before being transferred to Holy Cross Parish Tramore. Colm was only settling in to his new appointment when he fell ill and very sadly passed away on September 16th 2009 aged just 36 years.
Colm’s life was very much about calmness and peace, kindness and humanity, a capacity to love and be loved, a shining goodness that radiated from within his own deep Christian faith, and his commitment to a life lived by the gospels.
Colm’s Memorial Cycle will also give people a chance to come together and chat about the wonderful memories they have of Colm.
Everyone is welcome to take part in Colm’s Memorial Cycle, even if only for part of the journey.
